Quran Improves Your Status!

A true Muslim should have Quran reading, a regular part of his life. Our prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W) companions were very efficient in Quran reading and Quran teaching. Isa bin Muhammad (Alaihir Rahmah) says that I once saw Abu Bakr bin Mujahid (Alaihir Rahmah) after his death in a dream reading the Holy Quran. I asked, "You have died, how are you reciting," upon which he said

"After every Salah and finishing of the Quran, I would pray "O Allah, give me the Taufiq to recite the Quran in my grave" and that is why I am praying." (Faizan-e-Sunnat) This is how much importance did the companions of our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) gave to Quran reading. Our prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) has also been praising the recite-ers and teachers of Quran. He said, “That chest which does not have any Quran in it is like an abandoned house.” (Tirmizi, Darmi)

There are several ethics of reciting the holy Qur’an. Quran has much to offer to Muslims. Recitation of every word of Quran has many rewards for Muslims. Along with that, the recitation of every Surah has even more to offer to Muslims. The Quran is the box of jewels for Muslims and humankind and these jewels would never end for Muslims. Quran is like a sea and the more you dive into it, the more precious jewels you will get out of it. It has unlimited knowledge for us to benefit from, but unfortunately we have been unable to do so as an Ummah. Unfortunately, we do not even know the basic knowledge about Quran. • The total number of Surahs in Quran is 114. • Quran is divided in 30 chapters and this division is called juz in arabic • The longest Surah of Quran is Surah- Bakra. • The shortest Surah of Quran is Al-Kaw’thar • The longest Ayaa in Quran is in Surah Bakra • Divorce is very disliked by Allah • Surah Yaseen is called the heart of Quran • Surah Rehman is called the Aroos-ul-Quran • Surah Quresh is the Surah that is named after the tribe of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) • Surah Mujahid is the Surah in which you will find the repetition of the name of Allah in every verse • Surah Hamd was revealed twice • Surah Falak and Nas together are called Mazatien
